Challenge
The existing dashboard lacked visual storytelling and usability, making it difficult for policymakers and media to grasp the stakes of preserving critical tax credits. The site needed to serve dual audiences—decision makers requiring high-level national impact data and constituents seeking localized, personal relevance—all while political debates threatened to roll back the incentives driving this investment boom.
Approach
I directed the visual strategy and brand design, developing an advocacy-focused aesthetic inspired by historical poster art and social activism. Working closely with the CleanEcon team, I created interactive district-level visualizations that allowed users to zoom between national impact and local stories. The design prioritized clear content hierarchy and immediate user feedback, ensuring every interaction provided a next step—whether understanding what's at risk or taking action to protect tax credits.
